..as CP visits scene, orders tactical hunt

A yet-to-be-identified gang of about ten armed men has killed a 34-year-old man, Okudili Okoro, and abducted a woman, Mrs. Orogun, in Ayede Ogbese, Ondo State.

The attack, which occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, saw the assailants arrive in two unregistered vehicles — a silver-coloured EOD and a grey-coloured Toyota Camry.

According to eyewitness accounts, the silver EOD sped towards Akure after the operation, while the grey Camry headed towards Owo.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Olushola Ayanlade confirmed the incident in a statement on Friday.

He disclosed that Ondo State Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, personally visited the scene in Ayede Ogbese earlier in the day.

Lawal, who condemned the attack, directed all tactical commanders to deploy every resource to ensure Mrs. Orogun’s safe rescue and the arrest of those responsible.

“We urge the good people of Ondo State to cooperate with us and share any relevant information that could aid in apprehending the culprits,” the PPRO said.
