Ondo State government has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to youth development and inclusion in governance, marking a significant milestone in the state’s journey towards sustainable growth and development.
The State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Omoyofunmi Segun Henry, made this declaration at the 2025 International Youth Day celebration held at the International Cultural and Event Centre, The Dome, Akure, today.
With the theme “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond,” the celebration highlighted the importance of harnessing the energy and creativity of young people to drive progress and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Commissioner praised the state’s governor for entrusting key positions to young men and women, demonstrating faith in their capacity to lead, innovate, and deliver results.
His words, ” Governor Aiyedatiwa did not just appoint me, a young man under the age of 40, to serve as Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, he also entrusted key positions in his administration to other young men and women who are making strategic contributions in various sectors”.
“This bold and intentional act of political will speaks volumes about his belief in the capacity of our youth to lead, innovate and deliver results”.
“This is not tokenism; this is leadership that understands that the future is not tomorrow, the future is here, and it is young”, he said.
