The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested four suspects in connection with a burglary and theft case reported in the Peace and Joy community, off Airport Road, Oba Ile.

According to a press release issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Daniel Aidamenbor, the suspects were apprehended following a complaint by a resident whose apartment was burgled on Sunday, July 9, 2025, while she was away at church.

Acting on the report, operatives of the Corps tracked the SIM card of an Apple iPad stolen during the incident, which led to the arrest of four suspects:

James Emmanuel Reuben, 23, a student Monday Reuben, 19, a student Japason Joshua, 21, a farmer from Gombe Lucas Joshua, 23, also a farmer from Gombe

The Command revealed that James Emmanuel, described as a “soft target” who cooperated with investigators and aided in the arrest of the others, has been granted bail based on legal advice.

Items recovered from the suspects’ residence include foodstuffs, household equipment, clothing, and the stolen Apple iPad, all belonging to the complainant. Investigations further indicated that the suspects had previously terrorized the same community with similar burglary attacks.

The NSCDC urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities, emphasizing that public cooperation is key to stamping out criminal elements in the state.

The suspects have reportedly confessed to the crime and are currently undergoing further investigation.
