Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as a fulfilled patriot whose legacy will continue to shape the nation’s political history.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Governor Aiyedatiwa described the news of Buhari’s death as a painful blow to the country, especially at a time when his wisdom and experience remain invaluable.
“It’s one death that grieves, but our faith in God Almighty who gives and takes remains unshakable,” the Governor stated.
He extended heartfelt condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, over the loss of his predecessor, as well as to Governor Dikko Umar Radda and the people and government of Katsina State, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the entire nation.
Reflecting on the life of the late president, Aiyedatiwa said Buhari lived a fulfilled life marked by prudence, audacity, contentment, strong will, and compassion.
“President Buhari was a man who valued his integrity and couldn’t hide his feelings. He was jocular and could make anyone smile even in difficult situations. This, he displayed when I, alongside other progressive governors, met him in Sokoto three months ago,” the Governor recounted.
He prayed for Allah’s mercy on the soul of the departed leader and asked that he be granted the best of paradise.
“Farewell, great General, patriot, and leader,” Aiyedatiwa concluded.
