At the ongoing JAMB Policy meeting and Tertiary education awards, stakeholders in the education sector have agreed on pegging the admission marks for Higher institutions at 150, 140, and 100.
University cutoff mark stands at 150 minimum, 140 for colleges of nursing and sciences, Polytechnic, colleges of education and agriculture stand at 100.
In addition, admission processes into higher institutions for the 2025 must close by October for Public institutions and the end of November for private institutions.
In attendance are Vice Chancellors, Provosts, and Rectors of both public and private institutions who suggested these to the Minister of Education and the JAMB registrar.
The Federal government officially set the minimum age for admission into the country’s tertiary institutions at 16 years.
Any admission carried out outside the Central Admission Processing System, CAPS, would be deemed illegal, and those responsible would face prosecution.
