On July 1, 2025, the crème de la crème of Nigeria will gather in Akure to celebrate a remarkable individual who has dedicated his life to the pursuit of human welfare and dignity.
Senator Bode Olajumoke, a sound legal mind, tested technocrat, serial entrepreneur, loving family man, respected community leader, noted Statesman and a seasoned Senator of the Nigerian nation embodies the principles of practical humanism, inspiring countless lives through his selfless actions.
The Essence of Humanism
Humanism emphasizes the value and dignity of human beings, prioritizing reason, empathy, and creativity in problem-solving. It rejects supernatural explanations, focusing on human efforts to improve the world. Humanists like Immanuel Kant, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and Jean-Paul Sartre have shaped our understanding of human relations and ethics.
Senator Olajumoke’s Unique Approach
While Dr. Olajumoke’s faith informs his actions, his commitment to humanistic values is evident in his; moral integrity in politics, Christian values guiding his interactions, ethical behavior, reflected in his treatment of others, care for the physically challenged, generous support for the less privileged through bursaries and self-funded endowments, support for individuals and educational institutions and professional bodies.

Dr. Olajumoke’s love for community, his contributions to the growth of the Christian faith, and his values as a family man demonstrate his dedication to the well-being of humanity. As he celebrates his 81st birthday, his legacy is being immortalized through the Bode Olajumoke Education and Hospitality Initiative, a testament to his enduring impact. This is an NGO set up by his friends and admirers to perpetually engraved his values even when he is still alive.

Dr. Bode Olajumoke’s life is a shining example of practical humanism, inspiring others to prioritize human dignity and welfare. His commitment to serving others, guided by his faith and values, has made a lasting impact on countless lives.
On July 1, when Dr. Olusegun Rahman Mimiko, our beloved former Governor in Ondo State will open his vault and feed us with intellect in a lecture he titled ” *Conquerors, Conquered and Consequences: A Discourse on Brain Drain”.*
In this Public Lecture our soul and body would align to receive once again snippets of what Senator Bode Olajumoke represents in our society. That is, finding lasting solutions to intractable problems of the human society.
