..embraces tech-training for members to mark day
It was an evening filled with laughter, heartfelt tributes, and delightful camaraderie on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, as friends, colleagues, and family members gathered at the Pen House behind Adegbemile in Akure to celebrate the golden jubilee of the Ondo State Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Mrs. Tola Gbadamosi.
The event, organized under the leadership of the State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Leke Adegbite, was a vibrant affair. Guests were treated to a pleasant atmosphere, sumptuous meals, and the elegant sight of women clad in coordinated white and blue attires, radiating unity and grace.

In a show of humility and solidarity, Mrs. Gbadamosi extended the celebration to a senior colleague, Mrs. Nike Busari of OSRC, who shares the same birth date, making the occasion even more memorable.
Expressing her gratitude, the celebrant said:
“I sincerely appreciate everyone who took the time to celebrate my 50th birthday.
It was a tremendous outpouring of love from all sides, and I’m truly grateful to every group that showed their affection.
The thoughtful and lovely gifts from friends were truly exceptional.
Above all, I’m deeply touched by the sincerity of the love you all brought as we celebrated together. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.”
In his remarks, NUJ Chairman Comrade Adegbite lauded both celebrants, describing them as formidable figures in the journalism space. He particularly commended Mrs. Gbadamosi for her unwavering dedication to the profession and her bold strides as a prominent security reporter in the state.
Among the dignitaries in attendance was Mrs. Bunmi Ademosu-Williams, former Special Adviser to the late Governor Akeredolu on Intergovernmental Affairs. She congratulated the celebrant and publicly appreciated her for her unwavering support during a turbulent period in Ondo State’s political landscape.

Speaking on behalf of NAWOJ executives, Mrs. Olufisoye Adenitan praised Mrs. Gbadamosi’s passionate leadership, noting her consistent efforts to create opportunities for members of the association.
According to her, at times, she can be tough—perhaps an influence from her military upbringing—but she’ll eventually listens and reasons with the executive team, a trait that has significantly contributed to the progress they’ve ve made under her leadership. Adenitan remarked.

As part of the evening’s highlights, the executive members of NAWOJ presented the celebrant with a surprise gift, while the association jointly honored both Mrs. Gbadamosi and Mrs. Busari with a beautifully designed birthday cake, marking a memorable celebration of life, leadership, and legacy.

And to further demonstrate her commitment towards the development of the members, she embraced a training session on tech for members, a few hours ahead of the birthday celebration with the topic: “LEVERAGING DIGITAL TOOLS TO BOOST PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE AND UNLOCK CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES”.

It was an eye-opening session that exposed attendees to digital technology platforms and opportunities, which they highly commended.
