In a surprising development in the kidnapping case of Nelson Adepoyigi, the APC ward chairman in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, two individuals who allegedly delivered N5 million and food items as ransom to his captors have been apprehended.

The kidnappers, who initially lowered their ransom demand from N100 million to N5 million along with food items, have now issued a new demand of N30 million for the release of the three captives—Adepoyigi and the two individuals who delivered the ransom, Bayode Loco and Isimeri.

According to sources who spoke with The Hope Metro, the latest development has plunged the family and political allies of the kidnapped party leader into renewed anxiety.

A local resident, who requested anonymity, revealed: “The individuals who delivered the agreed ransom were also captured by the kidnappers. They’re now demanding an additional N30 million to release all three victims.”

Hon. Kolapo Oja, Chairman of Ose Local Government Area, had earlier confirmed the previous negotiation, stating that the ransom had been reduced to N5 million and food supplies.

However, he expressed concern over the turn of events and appealed for calm while security efforts are intensified.

Adepoyigi was kidnapped on Monday night around 10 p.m. while attempting to park his car at his residence in Ifon.

“He was reportedly beaten and dragged away by his abductors.

As the situation grows more tense, family members, political leaders, and the local government authorities continue to appeal for his safe return and the release of the two additional captives.
