Following the crisis in the Rivers State which has resulted in violence and vandalisation of pipeline, President Bola Tinubu has invoked section 305 Paragraph 5 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to declare a State of Emergency in Rivers State.

He issued the proclamation Tuesday evening in a nationwide broadcast, saying the order takes immediate effect.
