..urges Governor to Prioritize Good Governance

The convener of Kalesanwa Sociopolitical Group, Mr. Moyosola Niran-Oladunni, has called on the Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to be vigilant against political sycophants and focus on good governance to secure electoral victory comes November 16, 2024 governorship election.

Niran-Oladunni made this statement in view of the recent move of some politicians from the opposition parties to the ruling All Progressives Congress party.

He urged the governor to draw lessons from historical precedents and avoid influences from individuals who offer no value to his administration.

In a pointed remark, Niran-Oladunni noted, “The dead for Aiyedatiwa today, all plants for Aiyedatiwa tomorrow. Mr. Governor should learn from history and be watchful of sycophants who have got no value to add to his administration. Nothing makes election victory easier and cheaper than good governance.”

He further emphasized that success in governance should not be judged solely by material gains or short-term achievements but by long-term progress that benefits the people.

According to him, a leader’s true success will only be evaluated after they leave office.

“We should be sure we understand the difference between growth, progress, and success. The governor would only be adjudged successful after he might have left office. We could only feel if there was progressive growth in the affairs and development of the state. There is no easier or cheaper way of winning an election aside from providing good governance,” he added.

Niran-Oladunni expounded on the differences between growth, progress, and success, stating, “Increasing material possessions or a company’s turnover is mere growth. But growth with ethics and discipline is progress. Progress coupled with humanity, morality, and spirituality leads to true success.”

He concluded by advising  Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to be cautious of “seasonal decampees,” urging him to align with leaders who prioritize ethical governance.
