Former Ondo State First Lady, Chief  Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has bagged a doctoral degree from the Federal University of Technology,  Akure, Ondo State.

The  Nigerian aquaculturist who was the first lady of Ondo State in Nigeria from 2017 to 2023 succesfully defended her PhD Thesis Friday before a crack team of erudite professors and the Imo State-born politician came out of the defence room smiling and jubilating.

Mrs Akeredolu’s PhD Thesis is Titled: Comparative Bio-technical Models for the Production of African Catfish (Clarias gariepinus) fingerlings using Solar Powered Recirculating Aquaculture System and the defence lasted several hours.

An elated Akeredolu who spoke to Crystal News immediately after the defence dedicated the success and the certificate to the late husband, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN.

She said that she has been doing the project since, but because of her public engagement as the first lady of Ondo, she couldn’t finish until now.

She was very excited and regretted that her husband was not around to witness this glorious moment.

“I am pained that it was Aketi who motivated me to achieve this milestone, but unfortunately, he is not around to share in this success story,” Mrs Akeredolu said. “But despite the loss, I’m still very much grateful  to him and the entire family who sacrificed everything possible for me to achieve this success story.
