As announced over a month ago, Twenty people applied for the 2nd edition of Idogun Development Association, IDA Scholarship for indigenes of the community in Tertiary institutions and secondary school, sponsored by Hon. & Mrs Joseph Adewolu. The application process was online, which made it available to Idogun indigenes nationwide.
The Education Committee, after thorough screening of applicants, disqualified eight. Two out of the eight were secondary school students, three were no longer tertiary institution students, two were from private institutions; while another one was in the first year of study in the University.
The remaining twelve applicants were selected based on merit and type of institutions, while the beneficiaries in the secondary school students’ category were supplied by the Principal, Idogun High School.
The undergraduate beneficiaries got a minimum of N50,000 each, while the secondary school beneficiaries received N10,000

1. Oluwatosin David Oluwasegun – Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (Medicine and Surgery), 200 level, CGPA 4.74.
2. Sina-Akeju David – Federal University of Technology, Akure (Information Technology), 200 level, CGPA – 4.49.
3. Ojo Samuel Kehinde – Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma (Political Science), 300 level, CGPA – 3.8.
4. Adetimehin Dorcas Boluwatife – Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (Law), 200 level, CGPA – 4.45.
5. Olorunfemi Olamide Peter – Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (Public Administration), 300 level, CGPA – 4.15.
6. Osolo Aanuoluwapo Grace – Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (Science Laboratory Technology), HND 2, CGPA – 3.44.
7. Olorunkiya Temitope Samuel – Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa (Pharmacy Technician), 200 level, CGPA – 3.65.

The Chairman of IDA Education Committee, Prof. Alaba Gbadamosi who led the team to present the scholarship on Friday, 19th July, appreciated the sponsor for the gesture, and pray for grace for their continuous contributions to the development of Idogunland.
He announced another category of award which is the Enrolment for UTME of two students in current SS3 class, who will graduate with at least five credits (including English & Mathematics) in WAEC.
This will be paid for by some Education Committee members after the WASC examination results are released.
