Days before the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Ondo state, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa passionately urged fellow contestants to reject smear campaigns and uphold peaceful conduct.

Addressing journalists after visiting the ancient palace of Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin, Ogunoye III, as part of his tour to local governments ahead of the APC primaries, the governor, who had already toured 15 out of 18 local government areas, called for sportsmanship and unity among APC contestants.

During his engagements at the palace of Olubaka of Oka in Akoko Southwest Local Government and meetings with monarchs and party members in Ifon and Ose Local Government, the governor pledged to revitalize tourist sites to boost the economy.

Accompanied by a cadre of loyalists and dignitaries, including Deputy Governor Dr. Olayide Adelami, Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly Mr. Olamide Oladiji, and Deputy Chairman APC Elders Caucus Chief Jamiu Ekungba, Governor Aiyedatiwa continued his sixth-day campaign tour.

Asserting his commitment to fostering rapid development and continuity in leadership until 2025, the governor appealed to party supporters at the Methodist Primary School Fajuyi Park, Owo, urging them to rally behind him during the primaries.

Dispelling rumors of neglecting ongoing projects in Owo, the hometown of former governor Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Governor Aiyedatiwa assured that all contractors had been directed to resume work.
