During an Interagency Seminar for Participants of Army War College Nigeria (AWCN) Course 8/2024 held in Asokoro, Abuja, Interior Minister Hon (Dr) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo underscored the critical role of interagency collaboration in tackling the diverse security threats confronting the nation.
Tunji-Ojo emphasized that fostering collaboration among various security agencies is imperative for effectively safeguarding citizens against both internal and external security risks.
He highlighted the significance of leveraging each agency’s unique expertise, intelligence, and resources to enhance collective efforts in counterterrorism and homeland security.

“The complexity of modern security threats demands a coordinated approach,” stated Tunji-Ojo. “Interagency collaboration is essential for pooling resources, sharing intelligence, and maximizing operational effectiveness in addressing national security challenges.”
He expressed confidence in the commitment of President Bola Tinubu to tackle insecurity and urged all stakeholders to play their part in overcoming the current challenges.
Tunji-Ojo stressed the importance of collaboration among federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to exchange intelligence and prevent terrorist activities.

The seminar, attended by key stakeholders including the National Security Adviser represented by Major-General P.P Malla, Chief of Defence Operations Major-General Emeka Onumajuru, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Army Hon. Mamudu Abdullah, Director-General of National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) Professor Abubakar O. Sulaiman, and the Inspector-General of Police represented by Deputy IG Frank Uba, focused on identifying key security challenges and developing actionable solutions to address the multidimensional threats facing the nation.
