..as institute unveils 2023-2025 Training Brochure
The Ondo State Public Service Training Institute, PSTI, on Tuesday unveiled a three-year Training brochure for its management and executive courses.
The Training brochure which was unveiled by the Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Ogundele, at the institute’s complex in IlaraMokin, covers courses in management and development administration, human resource management, Public Financial management, monitoring and evaluation, agricultural, health, local government services among others.
Unveiling the Training brochure, the Head of Service described PSTI as a vehicle for effective manpower development, through which the state government could achieve its commitment to pursue e-governance.

The HoS, who was once a Director General of the institute, affirmed that the PSTI was established as a world class management and professional institute to provide qualitative Training and retraining to the public services.
According to him, the founding mission of the institute formed part of the REDEEMED AGENDA of the Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s second term in office, which captured ‘Educational Advancement and Human Capital development’.

Commending the Governor for his economic policies in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, the HoS said:
“Our state has invested and is still investing in human capital development and capacity building because of the conviction of Mr. Governor that economic development and social growth should be driven by capacity building to support the state in its drive towards the creation of a knowledge-based economy”.
He commended the institute for championing training and capacity building of public servants and interested private sectors , while he encouraged management and staff to work collaboratively and justify the investment of the government on the institute.

Earlier in his welcome address, the PSTI’s DG, Dr. Olumide Asere, had reiterated the determination of the institute to create a value chain that will cascade into measurable outputs in the public service.
He said: “..I dare say that, PSTI is setting a new paradigm that will see the institute adopting a business strategy that allows it to navigate and compete with other entities through its Business Development Department”.
He disclosed that the institute’s partnership programme with AAUA has commenced while with FUOYE is underway.

The DG further revealed that, the institute had started contributing to the Internally Generated Revenue of the state in no small measure since 2022 that it started running management and executive courses.
Dr. Asere who later led the Head of Service to inspect the institute’s newly constructed library, informed that the library had been stocked with books and other needed equipment in order to earn accreditation from partnership institutions within and outside Nigeria.

“It is inspiring to note that PSTI has grown in leaps and bounds. We now offer a range of services that has enhanced our profit making capability”, he added.
