State Exam: CABATAF Pupil receives ODSG’s award for outstanding performance

A Pupil of the CABATAF Private School, Akure, Master Abiodun Daniel Ayomide was today honoured by Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, with an award of Excellence for best performance in the 2020 Common Entrance Examination.


The award was bestowed on him in company of the management of the school and Government officials at an event organised by the State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology held in Ondo State Culture and Event Centre, the Dome, to mark 100 days in office of Governor Akeredolu for the second term.


Presenting him the award, Governor Akeredolu commended the awardees, and expressed the determination and commitment of his administration to continually celebrate outstanding performances and reward hardwork of teachers and students.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Princess Oladunni Odu, Governor Akeredolu implored both the teachers and students to be determined, noting that determination and honesty are ladders to success.

He charged the students not to be indulged in examination malpractices but be focused to achieve their goals in life.

In his reaction, the Proprietor of the School, Pastor Yinka Ogunode was elated that one of his products emerged overall best in a state examination, noting that CABATAF is known for outstanding performances since its establishment in 1983.

He said the school had produced a lot of graduates doing well in different phases of human endeavors.


He described Master Abiodun Daniel as a true symbol of CABATAF and a special child, as he advised children to work hard and urged parents to support their children by providing needed educational resources to enhance their studies.


The awardee, Master Abiodun Daniel attributed his academic excellent performance to hardwork and motivation from his parents.


He appreciated the efforts of the management of CABATAF schools at ensuring that they were given adequate and quality education, while enjoining his peers to take their studies serious.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry of education, Mrs Lola Amuda in her welcome speech had explained that the celebration was in commemoration of 100days of Mr. Governor in office for the second term.


She said the event was for the outstanding pupils and students in the 2020/2021 International, national academic competition and state examinations, noting that the successes and achievements of the students were clear effort of the state government towards educational advancement and human capital development in the state.


The PS commended the effort of Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu for payment of 360million Naira for registration of candidates in all public secondary schools in the state for 2021 West African senior school certificate examination, payment of N3.8 million for registration of candidates of government technical college for 2021 NABTEB examination, payment of scholarship award to outstanding Ondo State students and recruitment of 1200 primary school teachers to enhance effective teaching.

Schools present for the award included, St. Peters unity secondary school Akure, CABATAF schools Akure, Greater Tomorrow schools Ikare akoko, and St. Louis girls grammar school Akure.
