It was a shocking and mysterious incident as the people of ancient Ogbagi Akoko in Akoko northwest local government area of Ondo state woke up this morning to discover the lifeless and dismembered body of a Septuagenarian and grandmother, Madam Sidikat Jimoh.

It was learnt that the 70yr-old woman was found in her pool of blood at her residence located at Ayetoro street, Ogbagi-Akoko, in what suspected to a ritual killing.

Ogbagi which is along Ikare Akoko-Ado Ekiti road, has many prominent sons and daughters including a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Chief Joseph Sanusi and a former Ondo state Chief Judge, Justice Sehinde Kumuyi.

A source who is a neighbour to the deceased told journalists anonymously that “her assailants removed many parts of her body.

“The ritualists even wanted to set her dead body ablaze, but ran away, leaving behind some of the removed parts of her body.

“This is mysterious, we have never experienced this kind of killing before in this town,” the source lamented.

It would be recalled that similar incident occurred on Akoko towns like Ikare, Ugbe and Arigidi Akoko last year and suspected ritualists were yet to be arrested for prosecution.

Both the Police Area Commander for Ikare-Akoko, Assistant commissioner of Police, ACP Razak Rauf and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for ogbagi, CSP Kunle Fabuluje corfirmed the incident and said full scale investigation haf comenced while the corpse had been deposited at mortuary of the Ondo state specialist hospital, Ikare-Akoko.
