As part of activities lined up for the 2019 Press Week in Ondo State, members of the Pen Profession today visited the State Children Home Oba-Ile to donate materials for the upkeep of the children.

Led by the State Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Mr. Tona Aderoboye, the union presented items like packs of indomie, detergents, toiletries among others.
Explaining the purpose of the visit to the management of the home, Adetona stated that it is an annual social responsibility of the union to celebrate the Press Week with the less privileged ones in the society.
He added that, the union decided to complement the effort of the state government in raising the motherless children in order to make them know that they are not neglected by the society.
According to him, the children are innocent special gifts from God that need not to be abandoned for government alone, noting that if they were well taken care of, they would also make impact in life, hence the reason the union extend a hand of love to them.

Responding on behalf of the Ministry of Women Affairs, a Social Worker at the Children Home, Mrs. Anamebom Hellen, appreciated the gesture and prayed for the growth of NUJ in the state.
The 2019 Press Week celebration continues tomorrow with a lecture and investiture of the state governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, as the grand patron of the union.
Thanks NUJ for always supporting the home, and wish the union progress, prayed for the children of the members.
