
The Ondo Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan has emerged as the Chairman, Nigeria Forum of Budget and Planning Commissioners in Nigeria.
According to a Press Statement issued by the Ministry’s Information Officer, Banjo Egunjobi, made available to JATS Online News, Igbasan was unanimously appointed by other Commissioners for Budget and Planning across the Federation during the 8th Community of Practice Conference of Commissioners of Budget and Planning in Nigeria, held on Wednesday 20th November, 2019 in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
The Conference was presided over by the Minister of State for Finance, Budget and National Planning, Prince Clement Ikanade Agba.
The Finance Minister congratulated the new Chairman and charged him to continue in the display of high standard of proficiency and intelligence.
While appreciating his colleagues for the confidence reposed in him, Pastor Igbasan promised to work with them to birth a new National vision and institutionalize the Forum as it is expected to pilot a new economy stability for the country.
The forum, which over the years has the support of the Department For International Development and Partnership to Engage, Reform and Learn (DFID – PERL), was formed to drive implementation of the resolutions of the National Economic Council (NEC) at sub-national level, encourage peer learning, deepen coordination and collaboration and improve planning and budgeting process across the Nation
