Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, says robust synergy between the State House of Assembly and the executive will help to sustain the current aggressive approach to physical and economic development in the State.

The party boss also stated that avoidable scuffles between the two arms of government usually hamper sustained development and productivity.

Speaking when he led the State Working Committee in a parley with the lawmakers in Akure, Adetimehin urged them to be subservient to party’s larger interest.

“What I am demanding from members of the Ondo State Assembly are total cooperation, loyalty, and commitment to the party and government. This does not mean that you are a rubber stamp.

“It is not unusual to offend each other in politics, but we must try to tolerate each other, and that is the way to develop and make meaningful impacts, both within the State, and at the national level”, he admonished.

He commended the legislators for the level of cooperation so far exhibited, adding that the beauty of having clear majority in the House must be vividly displayed.

Adetimehin said that besides the chain of industries in Ore, and plans for deep sea port, the bitumen exploration will commence soon. “The project is not being funded by government, but by a corporate body. All the machines needed for the operation have been imported,” he revealed.

He affirmed that the APC-led government in the State is determined to leave behind enviable legacies at the expiration of every term

Responding, the Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt Honourable Bamidele Oleyelogun, commended the roles of the State chapter before, during and after the elections.

He said House believes in the supremacy of the party, and assured of maximum cooperation in the interest of the party and the State.

“There is no doubts that the State House of Assembly has tremendous confidence in the party Chairman, and the Governor,” he added.
