Wife of Ondo State Governor, Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu will on Tuesday the 12th of November 2019, receives the National Association of Women Journalists’ GRAND AMAZON AWARD which is part of activities to mark the 30th Anniversary of NAWOJ in Nigeria.

A statement by NAWOJ in Ondo State signed by its Secretary, Mrs Patience lbeh, explains that the wife of the Governor will also at the event be enlisted into the association’s hall of fame.

This honour is in recognition of Arabirin’s commitment to the development of children and women through her BEMORE EMPOWERED INITIATIVE, her commitment to the fight against rape and gender based violence among many other humanitarian strides.

The statement explains further that: “NAWOJ leadership carefully followed these initiatives through our lens as Media Executives and deemed it fit to honour Mrs Akeredolu as one of our AMAZONS as we commemorate the 30th Anniversary and celebrate the efforts of our founding mothers”.

The anniversary which will hold at the Radio House Press Center Hall, Garki Abuja is with the theme: NAWOJ @ 30: CELEBRATING THE AMAZONS.

About thirty women journalists from Ondo state will attend the event which will witness the convergence of well over 1,200 women journalists within Nigeria and the diaspora, even as it will draw participants from various women civil society organizations across Africa.
