…assures constant capacity building trainings for members


The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Ondo state chapter has got a new executives to steer the affairs of the association for the next three years.

They are Doris Olumoko of the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA, Akure (Chairman), Tola Gbadamosi of The Hope, (Vice-chairman), Patience Ibe of Adaba FM, (Secretary).


Others are, Mary Agidi of The Hope, (Treasurer), Tosin Igboteguono (Asst. Sec).


Giving her acceptance speech, the new Chairman thanked God for the smooth electioneering process that produced the new executives who are all returned unopposed, describing them as the lucky ones.


She expressed the readiness of the new NAWOJ administration to pursue vigorously, the issue of women participation in politics by collaborating with other women groups to achieve the 35% affirmative in Ondo state.


Olumoko assured that the new executives would be united for the interest of the association, and synergies with agencies to train women journalists in the state and brigde the gap of capacity building opportunities which members have not be opportune to benefit for years.


The NTA Assistant Manager, News, who was also the Vice-chairperson in the immediate past administration, prayed for grace to achieve the set goals, and further reiterated the readiness of the association to embark on advocacy programmes on issues affecting women and girls children in the state.


She however thanked members of the association for the confidence reposed in them and promised that the new executives wouldn’t dissappoint them.


The NAWOJ Zone B Vice-president, Mrs. Morenike Tony-Esan commended members of NAWOJ in the state for remaining peaceful and for a successful transmission.


She implored the new executives to be united and eschew acts that can cause division among them, and to always verify rumours.


The outgone Chairperson in the state, Mrs. Sola Omotosho charged them to work collaboratively, and ensure that Ondo NAWOJ is at the forefront of activities that will impact the lives of members of the association.


The new executives were sworn in by the state Chairperson of the Association of Female Lawyers, Mrs. Bola Ogundadegbe.
