Sequel to the report that a Lassa fever ambulance belonging to Ondo state specialist hospital was hijacked yesterday along Akure-Benin Expressway, the Police Public Relation Officer of Ondo command, Mr. Femi Joseph has described the information has untrue.

The circulated information which was accompanied with a picture of an ambulance surrounded by people, also said a Doctor was kidnapped at the process while a Police officer was shot.

The statement released by the PPRO reads thus:

“The attention of Ondo State Police Command has been drawn to one spurious and fabricated story posted online to the effect that “a Doctor was kidnapped, Policeman Shot while an ambulance was also highjacked in Ondo state yesterday 14/6/2019.

“It must be said here that nothing of such happened anywhere in Ondo state as reported by this writer.

“As a matter of fact, and up to this morning,in deference to the directives of Ondo command CP Undie Adie, our men have been patrolling the major highways up to the boundaries with neighbouring states.

“No such serious incident as reported by this junk journalist has either occurred or been reported . This is another story from a quack masquerading as a journalist to hoodwink the people of the state and by extension Nigerians.

“We salute our real and professional journalists in the state who did not only call to verify the authenticity of the story but also resisted the temptation to join this lone deviant in publishing the story.

“Finally, we urge the good people of Ondo State to disregard the story and continue with their lawful businesses as the Command is fully determined to provide adequate security for all and sundry”.
