All roads led to Akure Sports stadium, on May 15th 2019 where a basketball clinic and competition was held for selected secondary schools and basketball teams in Akure, facilitated by Blitzik Global Enterprises, a Non-Governmental Organization that prioritises youths development through sports.

During the competition, Ondo Kings defeated Ekiti Invaders with 25 points to 22points.
Declaring open the event, the General Manager of the Ondo State Sports Council, Mr. Wande Fabuluje lauded the initiative of the organiser to call the attention of the Public to the development of basketball and create its interest in the mind of the young ones.
He enjoined the participating students to continue to practice basketball after the clinic.

Also speaking, the Ondo State Chairman of Basketball Association, Chief Francis Gbiri also commended the initiator, Mr. Isaac Afolabi, a Sport journalist for his love for sport development.
He described information as key to Sport development while emphasising the need for a cordial relationship between journalists and Sports industry.
He challenged stakeholders in Sports industry, especially basketball coaches and players to emulate the gesture and contribute their quota to the development of the game in the country.
The General Manager of Radio Nigeria, Positive FM 102.5, Mr. Tunde Abiodun appreciated the interest Isaac Afolabi to promote basketball game.
“This is a very beautiful programme, good initiative and is a way of moving away from football football, everybody has been talking about football, with this, we can talk of basketball.
” It is very good and I pledge the support of positive FM management to support him in anyway possible”, he said.
Speaking, the initiator, Isaac Afolabi noted that his NGO is purely based on sports development, and advocates a better welfare for sportsmen and women.
He explained that the essence of the clinic is to encourage young talents in secondary schools, and to charge government to invest in all sporting games and not to concentrate on football alone.
“And we use this medium to encourage athletes, that they should also engage themselves in sports activities and also ensure they get a skill or academic qualification that will make them relevant after their career.
“Because in Nigeria most athletes after their career they find themselves in a very sorry case, in some cases they fall sick and find it difficult to even take care of themselves. So by the time they have a qualification or a skill they would be able to do something with their life after their career, that is the basis of what we are preaching as an organization.
“Basically we are not focusing on basketball alone , we are just using this medium to shift attention from football to other game of sports that is why we chose basketball.
He therefore reiterated its commitment to make the event an annual one in order to feature all the secondary schools in Ondo state.
“Our target is that we want a situation where all the schools in the state will have their own sports facilities, because I have worked round the state in some local governments you will find out that some schools don’t have a table tennis court, some don’t have a playing ground”, he noted.
Earlier, the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ondo State council, represented by the Secretary, Mr. Leke Adegbite promised the support of the union for Blitzik Sports, while describing Afolabi as a passionate Sport journalist who is determined to achieve greatness in his endeavour.
The Proprietor of Ekiti Invaders, Mr. Oyebo Adebowale charged parents to encourage their children to participate in Sports activities and not to see it as an immoral thing.
He commended the initiator for organising such event without sponsorship.
Schools that participated in the basketball clinic which was conducted by the two coaches of Ondo state basketball coaches, Sola Aluko and Fisayo Bello were, Preston international school Akure, Oyemekun grammer school, Wisdom Academy Akure, and Corpus Christi International school.
