In furtherance of his avowed commitment to bring government nearer to the people, as well accede to the people’s yearnings for expansion of democratic governance, Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has approved the constitution of an 11- member commitee on Creation of Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state.

The Commitee is chaired by Lanke Odogiyan, Esq, while Mr. Deji Akinwalere will serve as Secretary.
Other members of the commitee include : Charles Titiloye, Esq, Mrs. Yinka Oladapo Alabi, Yinka Adeyosoye, Esq, Prince Ajose Kudehinbu, Chief Bunmi Fasonu, A. A Akindele Esq, Mrs. G Mojisola Ajayi, Chief Ojo George Fajemilusi and Surveyor Gani Agunbiade.
The commitee will be inaugurated by Governor Akeredolu on Thursday, 21st March, 2019, at the Cocoa Conference Hall, Governor’s Office, Alagbaka, Akure.

The commitee has three months to submit its report, with effect from the date of its inauguration.

Terms and Reference of the committee include : To invite written / Oral memoranda from the public, screen all memoranda and make recommendations to the state Government. To make extensive consultations with the communities and their leaders and recommend provisional adjustment of the boundaries or proposed LCDAs, where neccessary.

The commitee is also expected to recommend to the state Government the procedure for the creation of Local Council Development Areas out of the existing 18 Local Government Area in Ondo state.
The Governor congratulates the Committee members on their appointment.
