Ahead of the February 2019 general elections in Nigeria, the European Union ,(EU) has deployed 40 Long-Term Observers (LTOs) with core team members to monitor the elections across the country.

It is part of the European Union Election Observation Mission to observe the electoral process in all the 36 states of Nigeria .

On its Twitter handle @EUEOMNigeria19, the Observers are already undergoing briefings and training in Abuja for a few days before being deployed across the country.

The EU observers who had met with the Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Hon. Lai Mohammed in two days ago, would be deployed to their states of assignment on Monday 21st January 2019.
