
The Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on Sunday sought support for the widows and dependants of fallen heroes, who died defending Nigeria.
Akeredolu made the appeal at the State Christian Service in Commemoration of the 2019 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Redemption Court Cathedral, Ondo Province 4 Ilesha Road, Akure, the state capital.
The Governor, represented by the Deputy Governor, Hon. Agboola Alfred Ajayi said in as such we remember our brothers and sisters that fell victim of terrorism and insurgency, we should all appreciate the sacrifice made by officers and men of Armed forces in defending and uniting the nation.

Akeredolu, who, read the only Bible reading for the service from Matthew 25-35-46, noted that one of the ways of keeping the memory of fallen heroes alive is by donating generously to emblem appeal fund and purchase these emblems.

According him, “for the benefit of doubt, let me emphasise that proceeds of the “Emblem Appeal” is for the Nigerian Legion for the welfare of the ex-servicemen and dependant of the fallen heroes”.
Akeredolu, however urged the church to continue to pray for the coming elections, saying Christians should seek the face of God to give Nigeria a free and fair elections.
