The International Press Centre Lagos-Nigeria has called for the release of two journalists, Mr. Jerry Jojo- Gana and Mr. Uboh who were abducted on Saturday October 20, 2018, while returning from work in Nasarawa State.

IPC made this call in a Press Release issued at the weekend and made available to journalists in its database.
The IPC director, Mr. Lanre Arogundade said the spate of insecurity in the country is a big concern to all and it is rather worrisome, when journalists and media practitioners now become targets.
Calling on the security agencies to intensify investigations on the abduction of the journalists, Arogundade noted that this case, if not quickly resolved could aggravate safety concerns for journalists even as the general elections draw near.
The release which was signed by Melody Akinjiyan, the IPC Programme/Safety Desk Officer stated thus: “Police in Nasarawa State have confirmed the abduction of staff of the state Broadcasting Service, NBS, Keffi office, and his friend by unknown gunmen.”
“According to source, the Police began investigation and found the Honda CRV belonging to one of the victims with an iPad abandoned by the road around Dadin-Kowa in Keffi town.
“We implore the security agencies to put all hands on deck to quickly secure the release of the concerned journalists.”
