The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three suspects and rescued three victims in connection with an alleged kidnapping incident captured on Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) in Oda, Akure.
The development followed the circulation of CCTV footage on social media showing the abduction of a victim by suspected criminals in the area.
Acting swiftly, the Command deployed its intelligence team, utilising digital surveillance analysis and coordinated field operations to track down those involved.
Operatives of the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad, acting on credible intelligence derived from the footage, arrested one suspect who later provided information that led to the arrest of two other accomplices also seen in the video.
The suspects were identified as Mohammed Koro, 27; Muhammad Usman, 30; and Musa Alhaji, 23. Preliminary investigations revealed that they played various roles in the alleged crime.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the suspects have made confessional statements and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicate.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to tackling crime, warning that the state will not serve as a safe haven for criminals.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and support the police with useful information, assuring that proactive measures are in place to safeguard lives and property across Ondo State.
