The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Friday commissioned the Aiyegunle–Iwaro Oka Road in Oka-Akoko and several other road projects in Owo Local Government Area, reaffirming that road construction and rehabilitation remain central to his administration’s development agenda as it marks one year in office.
Describing the inauguration as a key highlight of his first anniversary, the governor thanked God for what he termed significant achievements within a short time. He noted that his administration has initiated and completed numerous projects that have positively impacted residents across the state.
According to him, the six-kilometre Aiyegunle–Iwaro Oka Road was constructed with durable materials to withstand heavy traffic. He said the road serves as a vital link for agricultural produce in Akoko, enhancing transportation and boosting economic activities in the area.

He recalled that the dualisation of the Akungba–Ikare Road was flagged off last year as part of broader infrastructural expansion and expressed optimism that it would be delivered as scheduled.
In Owo, the governor commissioned Opomulero Road, Iselu and Isuada roads, as well as Falodun and Kajola roads, covering about 3.5 kilometres. He said the projects would improve connectivity, stimulate commerce, reduce travel time and ease movement within the town.
Reiterating his commitment to inclusive governance, Aiyedatiwa assured residents that no community would be left behind, stressing that his administration’s OUR EASE policy focuses on fairness, equity and shared prosperity across sectors including roads, healthcare, education, agriculture and commerce.
Represented by his deputy, Dr Olayide Adelami, the governor also inaugurated an upgraded Primary Health Care facility and newly built staff quarters in Owo, noting that 112 PHCs across the state are undergoing upgrades, with 51 already completed.
Traditional rulers, including the Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, Olubaka of Oka, and the Ajibade Ogunoye, Olowo of Owo, commended the governor for completing long-abandoned projects and advancing infrastructure development in their domains.
Top government officials, lawmakers, community leaders and other dignitaries attended the ceremonies.
