..as ALGON visits Monarch ahead Igoke Agba Ceremony
Ahead of the Igoke Agba Ceremony scheduled for Saturday in Oka-Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State, a delegation of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Ondo State chapter, paid a courtesy visit to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adebori Adeleye (OON), at his palace on Friday, 28th November 2025.
The team, led by the ALGON Chairman and Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Hon. Gbenga Fashua, congratulated the Olubaka of Oka on the privilege of witnessing his induction into the Elders Council of the community. The ceremony marks the turn of his age group, the Egbe Mabolaje of Oka land.
Fashua explained that the visit had the approval of the state governor and commended the monarch for his fatherly role in promoting peace across Akokoland and the entire state.

Responding, the Olubaka expressed deep appreciation for the honour, describing it as a reflection of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s respect for the traditional institution. He said the gesture also mirrors the governor’s values, which the local government chairmen have continued to uphold.
The Olubaka added that he would forever cherish the rare honour bestowed on him.
“I consider it a privilege and honour that a delegation of ALGON visited to congratulate me during this period. It has never happened. What you did today is an indication of what Mr. Governor represents. He holds the traditional institution in very high esteem. This is the same thing that he is doing that you chairmen are also doing.”
The delegation comprised chairmen of Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo, Okitipupa, Ifedore, Akoko South West, Idanre, Ose, and Akoko South East local governments.
