Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has announced that her upcoming 65th birthday celebration will be dedicated to raising funds for the completion of the National Library, a project she described as dear to her heart.

In a recorded message released ahead of her birthday via video through her Senior Special Assistant on Media,  Busola Kukoyi, which falls on Sunday, September 21, 2025, the First Lady expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life, noting that she would mark the day quietly in thanksgiving.

She appealed to well-wishers, friends, and associates who may wish to send birthday cards, cakes, flowers, gifts, or newspaper advertisements to instead channel such funds into supporting the Oluremi@65 Education Fund.

“The completion of the National Library would be the first birthday present I could receive,” she said, adding that her lifelong passion for education influenced her decision to dedicate the milestone celebration to the initiative.

According to her, the fund is being coordinated by the Federal Ministry of Education, with contributions directed to a Zenith Bank account (1310314977).

Mrs. Tinubu thanked Nigerians for supporting the cause, assuring that their contributions would go a long way in building a legacy for education in the country.
