..Commiserates with His Family, Charges Individuals to Live with Fear of God

The idea of praying for the dead has been described as an effort in futility; instead, the living should strive to live an enviable life, knowing that everyone will give an account of their deeds on earth after death.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State and Managing Executive of CUBEGROUP, Mr. Moyosola Niran-Oladunni, stated this in his reaction to the demise of Nigeria’s immediate past president, Muhammadu Buhari.

According to him, the dead needs no prayer because “after death comes judgment”, describing the practice as hypocritical.

He said: “Any prayer for the dead is an exercise in futility. After death comes judgment. You can only pray for those left behind. Buhari has lived his life; he’s gone to answer for his deeds while alive. There is no prayer anyone can offer on his behalf anymore. He’s gone to account for his deeds and face judgment.”

He, however, advised individuals to exhibit the fear of God in their daily dealings by loving one another and serving humanity.

“People should strive to live an enviable life, driven by the fear of God, dedicated to service, with love for one another and commitment to humanity,” he emphasised.

He, therefore, commiserated with the family of the former Nigerian president, saying: “May the Almighty Allah grant all those he left behind the fortitude to bear the loss.”
