Olori Adejumoke Adeleye, wife of the Olubaka of Oka Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State, has been decorated as the Matron of Iyaniwura Society, Ekiti State.

During a glamorous yet low-key gathering held at the Olubaka’s palace, the Special Adviser 1 of Iyaniwura Society Chief Mrs. Foluso Awojolu who decorated her as the Matron of the society testified to Olori Adejumoke’s good manners and character while growing up in Ado-Ekiti.

She stated that the choice of Olori Adejumoke for the position was in recognition of her virtuous and submissive lifestyle as the Queen of Olubaka.

“Since I knew her during secondary school, she has never been involved in any immoral or indecent lifestyle, and I was happy about that. Her father served as the chairman of our street, Araromi Falegan, for many years while I served as Treasurer. He was nice to us and well-behaved, without any atrocious records to his name. She takes after her father,” she said.

She also acknowledged the virtues of the Olubaka, describing him as the most respected, dignified, and easygoing monarch she had ever known.

According to her, Iyaniwura Society was founded by AgbaAkin Olufemi Aduloju Oja 1 to promote good motherhood and celebrate outstanding mothers in society.

She added that the association does not condone or accommodate any woman who is fond of maltreating or disrespecting her husband. It also intervenes in marital misunderstandings when any husband is found guilty of maltreating his wife, with the aim of promoting peaceful coexistence in society.

Welcoming them to the palace, the Olubaka, Oba Adebori Adeleye, OON, expressed his appreciation for the unconditional love and care given to him by the Olori.

He was grateful for the honor and bestowed royal blessings for the progress of the association and its members.

He explained that he chose not to make the event elaborate as he was mourning the untimely demise of the Alale of Akungba, who passed away a few days to the investiture.

Responding to the honor, Olori Olubaka expressed her gratitude to the President of Iyaniwura Society for recognizing her with such a respectable position.

Hailing from Ipe Akoko but born and raised in Ado-Ekiti, she lauded the motherly sense of judgment demonstrated by the members of Iyaniwura Society, who unanimously agreed to install her as their Matron despite her being a sojourner in Ekiti.

She eulogized her husband, HRM Oba (Dr.) Adebori Adeleye, OON, for approving the installation, describing him as a pillar of support and guidance whom she had never, for once, regretted marrying.

She described her journey to the palace as predestined, noting that her father was from a royal family but decided to settle down in Ekiti land to avoid the kingship position.

Giving the vote of thanks, Chief Olofin described the honor as well-deserved. He highlighted Olori Adejumoke’s contributions toward the transformation of the palace since she married Olubaka and how she had positively impacted the community, including her respectful relationship with the Chiefs.

In attendance were the Founder of the Society, the President Rev. Mother Bosede Omotoye, members and the Olubaka-in-council Chiefs.
