The Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) has released the names of the political parties that will be participating in the Local Government elections coming up on 18th January 2025.

The Commissioner in charge of Communication, Media and Information Technology at the State’s Electoral Commission, ODIEC, Mr. Tunde Adeleye made this known on Friday.

According to him, 13 political parties were cleared during the screening exercise that took place at the ODIEC Headquarters on Friday 27th, December, 2025 to take part in the election for the Chairmanship positions in the 18 Local Government Areas and councillorship positions in the 203 wards of the state.

The list of screened and cleared political parties was released by ODIEC on January 1st, 2025 and are:

Action Democratic Party (ADP)
Action People’s Party (APP)
All Progressive Congress (APC)
All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)
Boot party (BP)
Labour Party (LP)
New Nigeria People Party (NNPP)
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
Social Democratic Party (SDP)
Young Progressive Party (YPP)
Zenith Labour Party (ZLP)
Action Alliance (AA)
National Rescue Movement (NRM)

ODIEC equally disclosed that campaigns by political parties that commenced on 26th December 2024 will end on January 16th, 2025.
