..no profession is gender-specific, says Ex-REAN President
As the curtain is about to be drawn on the 2024 Bemore Summer Bootcamp holding at Lead City International School, Jericho Ibadan, the girls have been educated on the importance of cultivating a saving culture and making wise investment decisions.
Addressing the participating girls who have been equipped with various life-enhancing skills, a financial expert, Prince Adesoji Arimoro while giving a talk on financial literacy, addressed the girls on the concept of delaying gratification, stressing that the discomfort of saving and investing now leads to wealth creation in the future.
Arimoro also discussed the dangers of debt, citing the proverb that “the borrower is a servant to the lender,” and advised the participants to resist the temptation of borrowing.
Furthermore, Arimoro highlighted the importance of financial planning, and goal setting, urging the participants to maintain a clear distinction between their personal finances and their business finances.
He advised them to budget effectively, balancing income and expenditure wisely.

The economic expert also lauded the initiative’s founder, Chief (Dr.) Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, for her commitment to empowering the girl child through the Bemore program.
He described financial literacy as a lifelong journey and expressed his willingness to assist the participants in registering their business names.
In her remarks, Chief (Dr.) Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu encouraged the participants to start monetizing the skills they had acquired during the bootcamp. She urged them to establish businesses, open bank accounts, and strive towards becoming financially independent women.
She pointed out that poverty often disproportionately affects women, and emphasized Bemore’s mission to change that narrative by empowering young women.
Dr. Anyanwu-Akeredolu also called on the participants to replicate the gesture, by helping other girls in their communities and becoming self-reliant and confident women.
She expressed her appreciation to Prince Adesoji Arimoro for his support and contribution to the bootcamp.
Earlier while also addressing the girls, the Chief Executive Officer of Consistent Energy Limited and immediate past President of the Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria, REAN, Mr. Segun Adaju congratulated the girls for having the opportunity to be exposed to such knowledge they acquired.

He encouraged them that no field of endeavor is reserved for any particular gender, and they should therefore be determined to break the glass ceilings.
He appreciate the Founder for being a great voice in championing girls advancement, as he charged them to go out there and utilise it and take over the world.
