In celebration of the 35th founding anniversary of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), the church’s General Overseer, Prof. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya recognized and rewarded nearly 500 first-class graduates from around the world with cash gifts.

The announcement was made during the Sunday Thanksgiving service, which concluded the three-day anniversary programmes held at the MFM Prayer City in Lagos State.

Pastor Olukoya shared that the initiative began in 2011, inspired by a revelation he received as a way to encourage academic excellence among church members globally.

He disclosed that, initially, first-class graduates were rewarded with new cars.

In 2011, the first edition of the initiative saw 19 beneficiaries, each receiving a car. For the second edition, he also awarded cars to the recipients. However, by the third edition, the number of first-class graduates surged to 77, leading to a shift from cars to cash gifts of N500,000 each. The fourth edition saw the number of beneficiaries rise to 106, with the cash prize adjusted to N250,000. By the fifth edition, the number of recipients had grown to 329.

For the 2024 edition, the sixth since its inception, a record of 492 first-class students from MFM churches worldwide were honored with cash gifts and certificates of recognition.

Pastor Olukoya encouraged all MFM students to join the church’s campus fellowship in their respective institutions to be eligible for future opportunities. He noted that this initiative has fostered a culture of hard work and academic dedication among MFM students.

The presentation of certificates was led by Pastor Sade Olukoya, wife of the General Overseer, with the support of the Governors of Delta, Ogun, and Lagos States.

In addition to honouring the students, Pastor Olukoya also recognized several Senior Pastors and individuals who have made significant contributions to the church’s growth over the past 30 years.

This included four Assistant General Overseers who received Ministerial Awards on Saturday.

The honoured A.G.Os are  Pst. Kehinde Adegbolahan, Pst. Francis Adebambo, Pst. Timothy Akano, and Pst. Abiodun Ladejola.

The 35th anniversary, themed “Power From On High,” began on Friday, August 16th, with a series of lectures, prayer sessions, and praise concerts. The celebrations culminated with a service that featured miraculous testimonies, a holy communion, and anointing sessions.
