In a bold declaration on Tuesday, the immediate past Finance commissioner, Mr. Wale Akinterinwa officially announced his candidacy for the upcoming Governorship elections in Ondo State under the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform.
Making his intentions known at the State Secretariat of the APC in Akure, Akinterinwa presented his aspirations to the State Working Committee of the party.
With a distinguished track record as the former Commissioner for Finance in Ondo State, serving three terms, Akinterinwa boasted having a wealth of experience and expertise across various sectors.

He emphasized his readiness to lead the state towards progress and development.
According to him, during his tenure as Commissioner, under the leadership of the late Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, strategic initiatives were implemented, resulting in a remarkable increase in the State’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) from N700 million to over N3 billion monthly.
Addressing party leaders, Akinterinwa outlined his vision for Ondo State, focusing on key areas such as youth empowerment through agribusiness, industrialization, infrastructure development, access to quality healthcare, education enhancement, support for security agencies including Amotekun, and the realization of the Deep Sea port project.

To the people of Ondo State, Akinterinwa appealed for their support and mandate to continue the legacy of past leaders and deliver effective governance to their doorsteps.
He emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in taking Ondo State to new heights, pledging to work tirelessly for the advancement and prosperity of all citizens.

With his declaration, Wale Akinterinwa sets the stage for a competitive and promising gubernatorial race, promising a future of progress, prosperity, and collective growth for the Sunshine State.
