The Ondo State Government has commenced its 2024 civil service promotion exercise, aiming to elevate approximately 4,200 deserving workers to higher positions.

Mr. Bayo Philip, the state’s Head of Service, announced this during the official flag-off ceremony.

He expressed gratitude for Governor Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s approval of the promotions, emphasizing the importance of reciprocating with enhanced dedication to service delivery.

Philip assured that the administration is committed to ensuring that no eligible officer retires without receiving their due promotion. He outlined plans for the 2025 promotion cycle, intending to complete the process before year-end to enable beneficiaries to enjoy their new positions from the beginning of the following year.

Despite the upcoming election year, Philip urged civil servants to remain impartial and refrain from engaging in partisan politics or election campaigns. Instead, he encouraged them to prioritize service integrity, emphasizing the motto “don’t deliver short, don’t deliver late” as a guiding principle.

Acknowledging Governor Aiyedatiwa’s supportive stance, Philip reiterated the government’s commitment to promptly rewarding deserving officers, emphasizing the importance of quality and timely service delivery.

Mrs. Dare-Atuse Olufunke, the Permanent Secretary of the Office of Establishment and Training, echoed the sentiment, urging promoted employees to enhance their efficiency in their new roles and not to take the promotion for granted. She commended the government for its swift approval process without unnecessary hurdles.
