In furtherance of efforts to propel Nigeria’s tourism sector forward, the Minister of Interior, Hon (Dr) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, spearheaded a strategic brainstorming session, aimed at further overhauling the visa application process.
The meeting, which brought together technical partners, top immigration officers, and ministry officials, centered on innovating the visa application system, particularly for short-stay visitors.
The discussion delved into the potential of automation in transforming the visa application process, with a vision to streamline procedures, reduce stress, and enhance accessibility through the automation of the application process.

The Minister emphasized the importance of fostering a more welcoming environment for tourists who are eager to explore Nigeria’s vibrant culture and rich artistic heritage.
He affirmed that providing a more welcoming environment for short-stay visitors is another way of achieving the RenewedHope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which prioritizes economic revitalization and growth through strategic reforms and innovative policies.
As Nigeria continues to position itself as a premier tourist destination, efforts to enhance the visa application process reflect the government’s commitment to unlocking the nation’s tourism potential and attracting visitors from around the globe.
