..donates foodstuffs to widows of fallen heroes
To sustain the legacy of Late FLT Lieutenant Ohai Prosper Idonije, whose sad demise occurred four years ago while in charge of the Airforce Jet combating Boko Haram gang, his immediate family has launched a foundation in his memory.
Leading the Idonije’s family to Nigerian Air Force base, Abuja, his elder brother Mr. Aigbohia Idonije hinted that it was the desire of their late hero to have a foundation through which he could reach out to families of fallen heroes.

According to him, his sudden death aborted his dream, hence, the reason his siblings took it upon themselves to fulfil his desire by launching the foundation in his memory.
“In 2019 when he came home, he had a dream. He spoke about the foundation with one of my sisters who is his immediate elder sister, that a foundation should be made in respect of fallen heroes.
“This is one of the reasons we in FLT Lieutenant Ohai Idonije Foundation made it our mandate to join hands in taking care of families of our fallen heroes to let them know we are all families and the efforts of our heroes shall never go in vain.
“Our mandate is to support the families of those who paid the supreme price for our nation Nigeria, this is because in most cases these men are the breadwinners of their families, and FLT. LT. Ohai Idonije was one of them. He was a loving brother”. He said.
The items were received by the representative of the 59 RC Squadron Leader A. B. Balogun, who appreciated the family for the innovative support for the families of the falling heroes.

He assured of equitable distribution amongst the affected families of fallen heroes.
Untill his unfortunate death, Ohai was the Air officer for the Headquarters Sector 2, Operation LAFIYA DOLE, the theatre command fighting boko haram criminals in Maiduguri, North East Nigeria.
Ohai was killed in the ambush that took over forty thousand of Nigeria’s Military best fighters in 2020.
“Hector” as he is popularly called by his friends and colleagues, was described as “the 9th most resourceful fighter pilot Nigeria ever produced.” “….He was a veteran of many-many battles against Boko Haram and its current mutation as ISWAP….” Some of his colleagues told Security Affairs.
