We’re committed to making you happy, protected- BeMore Girls assure Ondo First Lady

..pay her condolence visit over Mother-in-law’s death

..BeMore is increasingly demonstrating new educational approach- Mrs. Akeredolu

Wife of the governor of Ondo State, Chief Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, has affirmed that her BeMore Empowered Girls Foundation, is increasingly demonstrating that young Nigerians could be self-sufficient, through skills acquisitions and application of the educational knowledge acquired.

She said this when some Alumni of the Foundation paid her a condolence visit at the presidential lodge, over the demise of her mother-in-law, Late Lady Evang. Grace Akeredolu.

Receiving a presentation of hat made by one of the girls, the BeMore Founder was elated that they’re already earning a living by applying the skills they acquired at the two weeks summer bootcamp.

“You are already earning, and I keep saying that you’ll not be lured by these Yahoo Yahoo boys; I’m just scared about what is happening in this society and I’m hoping that wherever you go you will remember what Grandma told you in the camp and what she keeps telling you. We want you to be different amongst the pack”, she said.

She emphasised the need for Nigeria government to endorse the educational approach of the BeMore Foundation where girls were groomed to embrace skills acquisition as a side hustle, rather than to be loitering around in search of unavailable white collar job.

Describing the departure of her mother-in-law as a celebration of life, the Ondo First Lady, affirmed that she’ll be sorely missed during the annual January 1st family reunion.

“We are going to miss Mama, she died peacefully at a ripe age of 90; when she was alive, she was like a mother hen to the Akeredolu’s family. Like I said, she passed at a ripe age, therefore, in our tradition, that age calls for celebration because she lived to see her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. It’s a celebration of life”.

Speaking earlier on behalf of the girls, Miss Michael Ogochukwu, hinted that their decision to pay Her Excellency the visit was borne out of their determination to forever contribute their quota to anything pertaining to the First Lady.

She passionately asserted that, “And we say to you Grandma, that we feel your pain, when you are pained we are pained also, and when you are happy, we are happy also. We share in your pain and we will be willing to do anything to make you happy and safe; Grandma we say we are sorry and may her soul rest in perfect peace”.

The Alumni comprises representatives of each year set of the Summer Bootcamp from 2017 till 2022.

In a related development, the Ondo First Lady, also received leader of the BeMore ICT Partner, Mr. Watti Boaz, who briefed her about a new developmental approach to improve the Bemore girls through two programmes.

According to him, the proposed programmes were designed to help the girls to leverage on opportunities they acquired at the bootcamp to provide value and earn.

He listed the designed programmes to include, BeMore Digital Skill Fellowship for girls of post secondary school level, and Bemore Digital Learning Clusters for girls still in secondary school.

The BeMore Founder embraced the programmes and expressed optimism about the girls reaching the heights of technological space and be earning from world internet organisations, without a need to leave the country in search of a greener pasture.
