UNIMEDTH gets Medical equipment worth millions of Naira

The family of Mr. Akinlolu and Nana Ogunwumiju has donated medical equipment worth of N25 millions to UNIMED Teaching Hospital Ondo complex and medical village. He said this is to support in the ongoing fight against COVID-19 and improve healthcare service delivery to the people of Ondo State.

Presenting the equipment to the management of the Teaching Hospital, Mr. Akinlolu Ogunwumiju ably represented by Chief Henry Olasanoye said it is his love for his root by giving back to his source pricked the focus into healthcare delivery.

Ogunwumiju, disclosed in his address that ” it is a known facts that the Nigeria present economic realities and healthcare services delivery is nothing to write home about. He added, that the above challenges gave rise for him to donate these Medical equipments, so as to join forces with the state government to provide affordable and qualitative healthcare service to the good people of our Sunshine State.

The donor educated the public that state government cannot do it alone but with supports from various individual, NGOs and corporate bodies, Universal Health Coverage could be achieved by the government faster and easily.

The Imperial Majesty and Paramount ruler of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Dr Victor Kiladejo CFR. Jillo III ably represented by High Chief Sasere, Chief Johnson Adeduro, the Osemawe of Ondo kingdom described the Medical equipments donated by Mr. Akinlolu Ogunwumiju as a great and kind gesture. He commended the donor for remembering his root and giving back to his source.

The Osemawe of Ondo kingdom said the donation will gear up others in the diaspora to do more for our people and to the development of the kingdom. He advised the management of the Teaching Hospital to make use of the equipments to the very best of their knowledge and tried to maintain them as well in order to create more value to our people.

The CMD Dr. Oluwole Ige ably represented by the CMAC, Dr. Michael Gbala thanked the donor of the medical equipments and promised to make use of the equipment to improve medical services to the general public. More so, he added that it would be maintained properly too so as to last longer and for the benefit of the people.

He advised other prospective donors that they should relate with the managers of the Teaching Hospital before they donate.
He said doing that would create more values to the kind gesture and services of the Teaching Hospital.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health Ondo state, Pharmacy Folukemi Aladenola ably represented by the Director of Hospital
services, Dr. Adelusi Ayodeji has expressed his delight when the donor hand over the medical equipments to the management of UNIMED Teaching Hospital. He said it is a laudable project and advised the manager of the equipment to make use of it very well for the benefits all and sundry.

He re-emphaised on the need to relate with hospital managers whenever a donor wanted to support the hospital, so as to avoid duplication of Medical equipments and desuading the values it should have created.
