Join our national prayer session for Nigeria, NAWOJ urges Ondo residents

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, would tomorrow Tuesday 11th May, 2021 holds a National 2-hour Solemn Assembly by 8am.

The Ondo State Chapter of the association under the leadership of Mrs Doris Olumoko has sent out an invitation to the concerned citizens of the state to converge at the NUJ PRESS CENTRE, Alagbaka, Akure for the prayer session.

Below is the statement issued by the State Secretariat of NAWOJ on the purpose of the programme:

“We are aware of the current security challenges our dear country, Nigeria, is going through due to the activities of bandits, insurgents and kidnappers.

“It is sad that the security operatives cannot solve the insecurity issues to restore peace as they, themselves, have not been spared in the attacks.

“Therefore, since there is no physical help in view to restore Nigeria to the land of peace and harmony it used to be, we as women, mothers and change agents have considered it wise and necessary to turn to God and seek divine intervention to salvage our country from any more catastrophe.

“In this regard, NAWOJ have decided to embark on a one-day Nationwide Christian and Muslim prayers to intercede for our country.

“We therefore, invite you to NAWOJ 2-hour Solemn Assembly on Tuesday, 11TH MAY, 2021 by 8am at the NUJ PRESS CENTRE, Alagbaka, Akure.

“We believe God will hear our prayers, heal our land and restore peace to every state in Nigeria.

“Participants are to wear red, Signifying Bleeding of the Land. No makeup and no sitting on chairs.

“Apologies for the short notice as we look forward to your highly esteemed presence”.

Signed: Doris Olumoko (Chairperson), Patience Ibeh(Secretary).
