Ondo NSCDC burst illegal Surface Automotive Gas Oil depot

The Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ondo State Command in her dexterity to carry the Mandate of the Corps with unwavering commitment to the Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi PhD, mni. vision of Zero Tolerance for Vandalism and destruction of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure; the Command has identified and dismantle an illegal surface AGO Depot in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area in Ondo State.

This was made known in a Press Statement signed by the Command Public Relations Officer, DSC. Olufemi Omole on Monday 5th April, 2021.

While addressing the Newsmen at the scene of the crime, the Ondo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Commandant Edenabu Douglas Eweka said ” the Command through sustained and credible Intelligence has burst an illegal Surface Automative Gas Oil (AGO) – Diesel in Ore, in Ondo State.

The Command Helmsman affirmed that some Criminal Elements and Economic Saboteurs used the arena as a storage base after engaging in oil pipeline Vandalism on the highsea and the creeks in the Niger Delta region. Hence, they transport the illegally refined products through Badges and Boats to the Coastal areas of Ondo State mostly; Agadagba, Ijaw, Ido Osun and the likes.

Consequently, this unscrupulous elements would defiantly proceed by conveying the products using Buses, Jeeps and Cars to where it would finally be stored in the Surface Tanks located in Ore Town.

Investigation further revealed that Ore Town in Ondo State is fast becoming the Headquarters of AGO illegal Surface Depot in the South west; most Tankers do load adulterated AGO via Surface Tanks and thus distribute for Sales across Nigeria.

Around 12:45am on the said date the Command Antivandal Squad tactically invaded the scene of the crime, the Suspects however ran off on sighting our men due to the fact that they were acquainted with the terrain.

Some of the exhibits recovered from the scene are: a Toyota Sequoia Jeep, a Toyota Camry Car, One Pumping Machine, two (2) Industrial Hose Pipes, 70 Kegs of 30 litres AGO and 35,000 litres of suspected adulterated Automated Gas Oil (AGO).

Recall that the NSCDC is statutorily empowered to arrest with or without warrant, Investigate and Prosecute in the law court person or group of persons found to have committed any criminal acts leading to Economic Sabotage, Vandalism, illegal and Unauthorized dealings in Petroleum products amongst others.

The NSCDC Ondo Command will continue to work relentlessly and assiduously to combat and eradicate all forms of Criminalities in the State. Our Antivandal Unit and Intelligence Team are all out to dislodged and discontinue the demand zone of Oil Bunkerers and Vandals knowing fully well that where there are no demands automatically the supply channel will be incapacitated.

On this note, NSCDC Ondo Command is issuing a Stern warning against perpetrators of Illegal dealings in Petroleum products, Oil pipeline Vandals and destroyers of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure to Stop the illegitimate and economic Sabotage towards the Government or face the full wrath of the Law.
