The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ondo State Council, has congratulated Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, and his new Deputy, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa on their inauguration to pilot the affairs of the state for another four years.

The union, however, urged them to build on successes recorded in the first term. 

This was contained in a COMMUNIQUE issued by the union after its February Congress held at the Pen House Alagbaka, yesterday.

NUJ used the medium to remind Governor Akeredolu of his promise to correct injustice against the Union’s senior members working with the State government by appointing at least one of the qualified Directors (who are Journalists/Information Managers) as Permanent Secretary.

Ondo NUJ also expressed concern about the rate of insecurity across the Country especially kidnapping of school pupils; while charging security agencies to up their games against bandits and kidnappers.

It also lauded the effort of Governor Akeredolu on security, and urged him not to relent in empowering Amotekun Corps to tackle security challenges facing Ondo state.
