The leadership of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Ondo State council has waded into the case of a four year old girl allegedly beaten to death by her father yesterday in Akure.

The chairperson of NAWOJ, Mrs. Doris Olumoko was called minutes ago and briefed that the parents are members of one Catholic Church (name withheld) in Akure.

According to the source, the Reverend Father of the church has been intervening on the matter before now, noting that the deceased girl was once discovered with bruises on her back by the church caregiver.

Meanwhile, NAWOJ is now on a standby to interview the Reverend father and locate the mother for more details, after church mass.

The mother was said to have absconded to Ikare.
