The Nigeria Association of Women journalists, NAWOJ in Ondo has charged the chief of Army staff, to immediately dismiss the soldiers who gang rape a 300 level student of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State.

A statement by the chairperson of NAWOJ in Ondo State, Mrs Doris Olumoko, says, the dismissal of the rapists will serve as a deterrent to others and go a long way in flushing out other bad elements from the Nations Military.

NAWOJ strongly condemns the fact, that security personnel who are supposed to protect the citizens have turned around to be the ones sexually assaulting them.

While expressing worry over the continuous rise in cases of rape of both minors, young girls and women, the Nawoj chairperson, Mrs Olumoko advised, that females should always be on their guard, cry out and report any case of sexual assault and rape to allow concerned authorities take swift action.

NAWOJ sympathises with the victim, her parents and authorities of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko and wants justice to prevail.
