The wife of the Ondo state governor, Arabirin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has implored Nigerians to stop blaming the rape victims, but to rather join the movement against the cruel act.

The first lady who also charged rape victims to speak up to expose the perpetrators of the evil act, enjoined them not to be ashamed in order to jointly end the harassment.
She called for the prosecution of the rapists and for collaborative effort to end sexual abuse of minors and rape.
“#metooNaija moment is here! It is about time!!. And it is happening!!!
“If you are rape victim, SPEAK UP! Shame the rapist. Prosecute the rapist. Nigerians, please, Stop blaming the victim!!!
“Even if it takes her a century to disclose what happened. #metooNaija is a movement. Join us to end senseless #sexual harassment, #sexualabuseofminors and #rape in Nigeria”. She posted online through WhatsApp and Twitter networks.
Her reaction follows the recent confession by the wife of the popular singer, Timi Dakolo, that she was raped by the founder of COZA church, Biodun Fatoyinbo years ago.
