Members of the LCDAs creation committee with the Deji of Akure, HRM Oba Aladelusi during the public hearing ceremony at Akure town hall today.

No fewer than nine local council development areas are being proposed for creation out of the present Akure south local government area.

This was contained in the memoranda adopted by sponsors at a public hearing on the creation of local council development areas held at the Akure City Hall.

In his opening address, chairman of the local council development areas creation committee, Prince Lanke Odogiyan said the public hearing is to enable sponsors of LCDA creation from Akure south to defend and adopt the memoranda of presented to the committee.

Prince Odogiyan who reiterated governments resolve to create the LCDAs in order to bring government nearer to the grassroots, solicited the cooperation of stakeholders to enable the committee achieve its aims.

Five minutes were given to each sponsor to defend and adopt their proposals after which they were submitted to the committee.

The proposed LCDAs are; Ajapada LCDA, Oyemekun west LCDA, Akure south East LCDA, Akure south west LCDA, Akure East LCDA, Oyemekun east, Akure central LCDA, Akure south west andAkure west.
Ifedore and Akure North Local Governments equally defended their memoranda at the public hearing.
The Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade led other traditional rulers from the three local governments to the public hearing. Other traditional rulers included the Oloba of Oba-Ile, Oba Oluwadare Agunbiade, the Alara of Ilara Mokin, Oba Aderemi Adefehinti, the Akapinsa of Ipinsa, Oba Olufunmilayo Omoniyi, Regent of Oda town, Princess Margaret Akosile and a host of other Traditional rulers and Chiefs.
Also present at the Public hearing was the Secretary to Ondo State Government, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, Chief Olu Falae, Chief Michael Ade Ojo, Alhaji Sheik Abdulakeem Yayi Akorede, Rt. Rev. Stephen Ayodeji Fagbemi, Hon Sunday Olajide, Hon Saka Yusuf, Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Barrister Gbenga Olaniyi amongst others.
